Excel → Accurate XML Journal Converter

What I work on

I use a tool that converts journal data from Excel into XML files so journals can be moved into Accurate through an import workflow instead of re-entering transactions one by one.

Logic & technical approach

• The input uses journal data that has already been structured in Excel.
• The tool converts that data into the XML structure used for the Accurate import process.
• The XML output acts as a bridge between Excel data and journal recording in Accurate.
• After import, journals are still verified to confirm accounts, dates, descriptions, debits, and credits match the source.

Accounting controls

• The Excel data structure must be consistent before conversion.
• Debits and credits must be reviewed before and after import.
• Account and journal-field mapping must match Accurate requirements.
• Imported results must be verified to prevent duplicates or incorrect postings.

Outcome / value

This workflow speeds up journal migration for larger volumes and reduces repetitive re-entry from Excel into Accurate.
